What does 'AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages' actually mean?
It means the recipe meets every nutrient a cat needs at any stage of life, including kittens and pregnant cats.
AAFCO (the Association of American Feed Control Officials) publishes the nutrient profiles widely recognised as the benchmark for cat nutrition. A food formulated to meet these profiles contains every nutrient a cat needs, in the right amounts.
"All life stages" is the more demanding of the two AAFCO profiles: it meets the higher growth and reproduction requirements, not just adult maintenance. That means the same recipe is suitable for kittens, adults, and pregnant or nursing cats.
Wundercat also references FEDIAF (the European guidelines) internally as additional advisory direction. Where the two differ, AAFCO governs the formulation. This is the technical foundation behind the simpler statement that Wundercat is complete and balanced and can be fed as a sole diet.
