My cat refused Wundercat in the first few days. Should I keep trying?

First-day refusal is usually caution, not dislike. It is worth persisting calmly.

In the first few days, a refusal is almost always caution about something new rather than a sign the food is wrong for your cat. It is worth persisting calmly.

Keep offering a small amount alongside their usual food, warmed slightly, at set meal times.

Signs your cat is simply being cautious: they sniff and walk away but are otherwise bright, active, and still eating their old food. Keep going and increase the new-food ratio slowly.

Signs to pause and reassess: your cat eats less than about half their normal calories for two to three days, stops eating entirely, vomits repeatedly, or seems unwell. Cats should not go without food for more than about 48 hours, as fasting carries real health risks. If refusal continues beyond a few days despite a gradual approach, contact your vet.
